The Tamil Nadu Non-Resident Tamils' Welfare (Amendment) Act, 2022 had been passed and notified in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette on 25.04.2022 for the Constitution of the Establishment of the Tamil Nadu Non-Resident Tamils' Welfare Board for the welfare of Non-Resident Tamils' in India and Abroad.

மாண்புமிகு தமிழ்நாடு முதலமைச்சர் அவர்கள் 06.10.2021 அன்று வெளியிட்ட செய்திக்குறிப்பில், வெளிநாடுகளிலும், இந்தியாவின் பிற மாநிலங்களிலும் வாழும் தமிழர்களின் நலனைக் காக்க “அயலத் தமிழர் நல வாரியம்” அமைக்கப்படும் என்று அறிவித்துள்ளார்.
மேலும், 2011 ஆம் ஆண்டு புலம்பெயர்ந்த தமிழர்கள் நலச் சட்டம் பிரிவு 10 (1) ன்படி வெளிநாடு வாழ் தமிழர்கள் நலனுக்காக வாரியம் அமைக்க வழிவகை செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.
அதன் அடிப்படையில் 24.12.22 தேதியிட்ட அரசாணை எண்.827, பொது (ஆர்.எச்-2) துறையின் மூலம், 15 அரசு மற்றும் அரசு சாரா உறுப்பினர்களைக் கொண்ட “அயலத் தமிழர் நல வாரியம்” அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
