Tamil Sangams in many countries of the world and other states in India have been working for the development of the Tamil language and the welfare of NRTs. By registering such Tamil Organizations and coordinating with them, their services can be significantly enhanced. All NRT associations / organizations abroad and in other Indian states are requested to register with this Commissionerate.
Two segments of NRT Associations can obtain recognition:
Application Form: The form can be downloaded or obtained from NRT offices.
Documents to be submitted:
Registration Fee: Registration is free of cost.
Registration Number: Will be provided after the registration process is completed.
A category-wise list of registered associations will be published on the official website.
No discounts or offers will be provided for attending government functions.
No registered association may use the emblem of the State Government or the Commissionerate.
All registered associations must renew their registration every five years. Any changes in address or office bearers must be reported. Non-renewal will lead to automatic cancellation and removal from the website.
Applications for renewal and address change can be obtained from this Commissionerate or the official website.
The Government / Commissionerate reserves the right to cancel any registration without prior notice or reason.
