What is the objective of this scheme?

The objective of the scheme is to provide monthly pension to elderly and destitute Non-Resident Tamils who have returned to Tamil Nadu after working abroad, so as to support their livelihood in old age.

Who are eligible?

Returned Non-Resident Tamils aged 60 years and above who are registered with the NRT Welfare Board are eligible. The applicant should not be in receipt of any other government pension.

Family income of the applicant should be within the limits notified by the Government from time to time.

How much is the Pension amount?

The monthly pension amount is fixed by the Government and revised periodically as per Government Orders. The pension is credited directly into the beneficiary's bank account every month.

Pensioners are also eligible for additional benefits including medical care and welfare schemes provided by the Board.

How to apply?

Login into your NRT Welfare Board account and select "Pension Scheme". Fill in the required details, upload age proof, income certificate, bank details and identity documents.

Applications are verified by the concerned authorities and pension is sanctioned after due verification. Track your application status through your dashboard.
