EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE

The Non-Resident Tamils Education assistance ensures that the children of the deceased Non-Resident Tamils have access to educational opportunities without financial burden. It provides financial assistance of up to Rs. 12,000 per child and up to two children of the deceased Non-Resident Tamil. Eligible applicants include those residing in India and enrolled in educational programs ranging from secondary school to postgraduate studies.

Am I Eligible?

• You're eligible if you're the child of a Non-Resident Tamil who had an NRT ID card, provided their NRT ID card was valid when they passed away.
• You should currently be residing in India.
• You are eligible if you are currently enrolled in:
  • 11th or 12th standard
  • Any course in Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or Polytechnic college
  • Bachelor's, or Postgraduate degree programs
• The scheme is limited to two children per family.

How do I Apply for the Scholarship?

• If the application is approved, the scholarship will be provided to your bank account.
• The Annual family Income must not exceed Rs. 1.20 Lakhs.
