What is the objective of this scheme?

The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance for the marriage of children of low income Tamil families whose parents died in abroad while working, so as to help them settle in life without economic difficulty.

Who are eligible?

Children of Non-Resident Tamils from low income families whose parents died while working abroad are eligible. The applicant should be registered with the NRT Welfare Board.

The bride / bridegroom should be of legal marriageable age as per the laws of India. Family income of the applicant should be within the limits notified by the Government.

How much is the Marriage Assistance amount?

Marriage assistance amount is fixed by the Government from time to time. The current amount is provided as per the notified Government Order.

The assistance is paid directly into the bank account of the beneficiary after verification and approval by the NRT Welfare Board.

How to apply?

Login into your NRT Welfare Board account and select "Marriage Assistance" scheme. Fill in the required details, upload supporting documents including proof of death of parent, income certificate, marriage invitation and identity proofs.

Applications are verified and approved by the designated authorities. Track your application status through your dashboard.
