NRT Grievance Redressal

TN-NRT helpline receives various grievances from the distressed NRT migrants or from their family members. After studying the complete case details, action is initiated accordingly. Based on the need of the case, it is liased with the Indian Embassy of the residing country to know the current situation and necessary action to be taken to resolve the grievances.

Some of the grievances received by TN-NRT are from Victim of Physical / Sexual abuse, for ssistance towards claiming of compensation and other benefits due from the employers, to register a complaint on illegal agents, assistance towards the transfer of documents in case of death, worker rights violation, Non receipt of salaries, Recruiting Agent Problems, Sponsor, Employer problems ,Worker rights violation, Worker contract problems, tracing whereabouts, Human Trafficking, Imprisoned abroad, Held in detention centres, undocumented workers.

Ambulance Requests

TN-NRT provides free ambulances from Airports to home towns/villages for transportation of mortal remains of migrants and to migrants with health issues and who are stretcher bound to the concerned hospitals home.

TN-NRT on receipt of request for ambulance from across the countries along with supporting documents like Hospital Discharge Summary and Indian Embassy Certificate (in case of patients), Death Certificate, Air Ticket (Cargo Invoice), Passport etc. in case of Mortal Remains will arrange the free ambulance service

MADAD

MADAD extends a helping hand to Indians abroad requiring Consular assistance. All Indian Missions and Posts abroad and the MEA's Branch Secretariat in Chennai are associated with this Portal for consular grievance tracking and follow-up. The MADAD portal helps to handle consular grievances through online forwarding, tracking and escalation until their eventual resolution.

A mobile App for MADAD has also been launched. A multi-lingual 24 × 7 toll-free helpline is operated by the Centre to disseminate information and provide counselling on issues related to overseas employment.

Transportation of Mortal Remains

Transportation of Mortal Remains Requesting Indian Embassy to complete the formalities and speed up the process to bring the Mortal remains back to India. Indian Embassy provides air cargo ticket to transport the mortal remains from the destination country to India. From the airport, TN-NRT arranges free Ambulance to transport the mortal remains to the hometown/village. In certain cases, request is also made to the TN-NRT for providing charge for transportation of the Mortal Remains from the residing country to India, which is given from the Revolving Fund.
