Medical treatment for following diseases requiring intensive and continuous treatment Rs. 1 lakh will be given. The scheme is in addition to an optional accident insurance scheme of Rs. 550/- per year to join this scheme.
Consultations are underway with the Insurance Companies to form a specified insurance plan for the Non-Resident Tamils.
Tamils, who go abroad for employment education etc., face tremendous problems in case of death, accident or any medical issue. Most of the time, when the person who is the main bread winner faces such situation, the family is unable to cope up with the financial situation which emerges. In order to assist them in times of distress Hon’ble Chief Minister had announced that an Insurance Scheme will be initiated for those persons who register themselves in the board.
